Well, after spending a great July 4th with family and friends in New Braunfels, Texas, it was time for the ride back to So Cal. Roy and I left at sun up on July 6th. Traveling through San Antonio heading west / northwest on I-10. What an incredible day of riding. We flew by El Paso and its intense summer heat, through New Mexico and into Arizona, eventually ending up in Benson, AZ.
900 miles in one day!! Yes we were tired. My Road King handled the heat better than I did. We traveled through a few rain storms, but we actually welcomed the rain to offset the desert heat.

The next day was the toughest. We were faced with the high temps of the Arizona and California desert, heading west on I-8 toward the mountains east of San Diego.

By the time we hit El Centro, CA., I was a fried desert rat. Roy got a bite to eat in the air conditioned Carl's Jr. while I soaked my vest and bandana at the gas station next door. We ended up back in Orange County by 3:00 pm that day.
Not bad huh? East of San Antonio to So Cal in less than two full days.
