Southern Cal to Texas and Back!! Part 1

This is a rundown on my recent motorcycle trip from Orange County, CA to Seguin, Texas. My wife and daughter were scheduled to fly out there for our summer vacation, so instead of flying, I decided to ride my 2005 Road King Classic and meet them there. My good friend Roy wanted to go along, so he joined me on his 2005 Honda Goldwing. I know, I know, a Goldwing and a Harley? Well it seems that Roy, after logging over 100,000 miles on various Harleys, had decided to go the luxury route and he bought himself a Goldwing a few years back.

We set out on Friday, June 28th from Buena Park, heading on I-40 through Arizona and into New Mexico. Day two got us to San Angelo, Texas. Day three we arrived at our first destination, Luckenbach, Texas, made famous by Waylon Jennings back in the 70's.

Luckenbach was great! We had a couple of cold brews and enjoyed the music of a local country band performing live. We even saw a real cowboy ride in on a Texas Longhorn! Not something we would see in So Cal.

After Luckenbach, we rode through the beautiful Texas Hill Country to our primary destination, a rental house in Seguin Texas, right on the Guadalupe River. There we would meet up with my wife and daughter and my wife's brother and his wife. It was a big house with a little fishing dock right on the river.
